How I thought about the book
The book was funny and interesting. It was very educational if you know the World War II history. I think this book was fun out of the other book I read. It was really interesting. Also it is easier to see what kind of society or government it was. I thought the book was making go into the life of a communist country and following the strict laws. It made me think about all of the history and documentary movies I saw in Geography class, which I am glad that I watched through it and not slept through. Anyways it helps me understand more about why it people do not like communism and why people do like communism. This give me a good scenes of learning. This story was also easier than Fahrenheit 451 too. I understand quickly especially since I understand the history of Stalin the Russian the Soviet Dictator. The rest I do not really know, but if I understand and learn about the history more than I might understand more and see why the story was made like this. I also heard from someone that the author’s name is not really like that. He just faked his name so he could not get caught about writing about communism. Maybe it is true or not. Although this book was miraculous and never made me stop reading until it finished. I think I picked the right book for this time. It was interesting how animals are shown as viscous humanistic characters. I thought that it was a good idea to make this kind of story .

Animal Farm#7
are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? or disturbing? or memorable? describe these settings and comment on why they were meaningful to you.
The only setting which I found well not beautiful, but just memorable was just the animal farm and Mr. Jones’s cabinet. This is because I remember the beginning of the story. The animals started to complain about Mr. Jones because the way of taking care of the farm, so the animals attacked the cabinet and mess the whole place up. This is how the whole animal farm thing started and also the anthem and commandment they have made. I think because of how he did not care for the animals and how he treated them. I guess that is what motivated the animals and the animals are almost doing the same thing to Mr. Jones. This is why it is memorable and meaningful for me. It starts at a place where it should be peaceful and boring and starts to be vicious and gory. That is why it struck me whenever I think about the story how unique it could be. It seems like a peaceful place has been attacked by and alien just like “Sign” the movie. Anyways I thought this book showed a lot of history and feeling about the past.

please choose one passage from the novel that is significant to you. why is this passage meaningful? Please type it into one of your entries and comment on what you think about the passage.
"Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals. He sets them to work, he gives back to them the bare minimum that will prevent them from starving, and the rest he keeps for himself." Chapter 1, pg. 7 This quote has been making me think about our lives and animals. Thinking about it, it seems like we used the animals off and the animals do not get anything from us unless they are our pet or just a farm animal be cared. I think we humans help the animals the same way animals help us too. This is meaningful because it show how lazy some people could be, but we could see if we order someone to do the stuff we want them to do then they are humble and they are not lazy at all. Also it shows that humans can also abuse animals. We always think so high of ourselves and never think about the lower. This does not have to relate with the animals, but this relates with our humanity. This could sound weird, but I bet if I was one of the animals in there and get no credit for anything I do or help I would also attack Mr. Jones. Thinking about it, this all makes scenes to just be thankful for what other peoples are doing. Also to just help each others when they just need help. Our life is not supposed to be made like this, but it is made like this because of how we act.

Animal Farm#5
what is the mood of this novel? do you find this novel saddens you in any way? why?
The mood of the novel is very hot red and madness also with being with great quiet and boring. The animals having a hard time also humans having a good time. Besides that it gets really bloody later and starts to become a fight of becoming the greatest animal leader. I think it sort of saddens me because thinking about it. The animals just wanted to make a good peaceful place for them to live together and be happy with no “aliens” or humans to bother him. Although that is what I would respect about in this story because the owner did not really care for them. I guess they just wanted to make the life easier and happier and over come the feeling of being nothing. Instead this did not come out straight and that it all became a bad ending to their world. Their plans were ruined and that they could never have a happy life that they wanted and imagined in having.

Animal Farm #4
what is the climax of this novel? what happens? how do the events of this novel make you feel?
The Climax of the novel was when Napoleon banished Snowball. Napoleon was doing his speech for picking who is going to be a leader and debates that he could be a better leader or a good one. I guess it was because Napoleon wanted to be the leader so bad that he did not want Snowball to become one and for the other animals to not vote for snowball. This later on makes Napoleon not obey the commandment that they have made. Eventually that shows a bad leader. I think this shows a lot of selfishness and more of something that Napoleon wants, but can not do well in. I think he knows that he might have the potential of doing, but not well at leading and controlling his own population. After the pigs had a lot more advantage and is not contempt in their own strict law the animals started to be wild and started to do more human things because of Napoleon’s ways of leading. This makes me feel annoyed. I guess this happens to everybody in their life too. I mean maybe we were the first one who said that the trend for this year is skinny jeans and then everybody wears them, but one day the person who set off the trend is gone. Now what is going to happen to the people who always follow the trend and fashion? The people might not even know what a shirt is and just use it as a hat. The people would be dress less. There should always be a plan B that is what I think our life is like. Also since Napoleon was only thinking about himself, the animals went out of control.

Animal Farm #3
• who are the main characters in the novel? do you like them? why or why not? what is special about them? what do they reveal about the universal human experience?
The main characters in the novel Animal Farm are Napoleon, Snowball, Boxer, Squealer, and Old Major. I do not really like them, but they give a good picture of humans trying to take over something and over using their power for no reason to help. My favorite character is Old Major because he was the one who had power and had everything under control and was not dominating over his lower classman. He was the one who did not abuse his power like the other animals. After Old Major dies all of a sudden the other animals were fighting about whom being the top leader and get to take Old Major’s space. Since that happened, everything got out of control and the way the animals work was not scheduled well like Old major did. This reveals a lot of universal human experience. This shows how people could abuse their power by first using it for good and later using it for themselves. To make the life better in their own picture and making it better for others. Especially when a president is governing and just wants the fame and power and not helping the different people and different class. I believe this show more about leadership. Maybe kids or even student president thinks that since they have become president that they would not need to listen to others and think that they know everything and get to say that I have the power and you know nothing. This is a great example of different countries government, like North Korea, Russia, and China.

Animal Farm #2
are there are any current situations in the world that relate to the novel?
are they, and how do they relate? does the novel shed any light on how current situations could be resolved or "fixed"?
Napoleon is like the mini Kim Jung Il. Sometimes the story seems like the situation in North Korea where North Koreans would always sing their anthem and listen to it every day and hour. They should worship at what Kim Jung Il is doing and also happy that Kim Jung Il is their leader. Napoleon dictates over the other animals which show how North Korea’s government is like too. The animals have to work for the pigs and always be satisfied at what the pigs are doing to their stable. The pigs would do anything to the other animals that they distrust and do not like. This is the way North Korea would govern too. The government also threat for freedom that we have which also shows that in “Animal farm” too. In North Korea there is two groups. One group adores Kim Jung Il and one does not. The ones who do would be fed well and get a good enough life environment. The other side would be poor and would not be bothered at all. The novel does not shed light on current situation. In Animal Farm, in the end, it shows that the pig has been over taken by humans, but in our real life, this has happened to few countries. Some countries are still having the same governing and have not been overtaken. I guess sometimes the problem can be fixed, but sometimes it can not. It usually depends on who the person is and what can make them crush to the ground and never be back.
