Animal Farm#1

what is the major theme of this novel? why is this theme important to a teenager living in 2007?

In my opinion, I thought there were many main themes. Although, there can only be one. The use of too much power leads to abuse. I picked this theme because looking through the book made me think about the movie I watched in Geography class which was Stalin. The life of Stalin was taken place in Russia when World War 11 was happening. This made me think about communism. Always the lowest have to listen to the highest and even worship at what the leader does. The story showed a lot of communism and a lot of dictatorship. This theme is important to a teenager living in 2007 because there would always be a girl or boy in school who is popular (very). The he or she would know that they are popular and knows that one of the people not from her‘s or him’s group want to be in their group. So if that person wants to be in their group, they would do anything to be friends with them. The popular people would be happy and would use their power to make them do what they say to do. For example maybe a girl wants to be in a group where they are popular. One of the girls there didn’t do their math homework, so maybe what the girl will do is ask the unpopular group who wants to be in her group do her math homework for her. In life this could happen. Power can be very powerful. If you use it correctly you are helping others and for yourself. If not mostly you are abusing the others and being a criminal in other people’s life.
